Who
Are
We?

The Salcha Ski Club is a nonprofit corporation established to promote and encourage the sports of cross country skiing and running among the youth of the Salcha area. We provide ski lessons, hold training / conditioning sessions and conduct ski races.

We also maintain, at our expense, the Darrell L. Coe Salcha Nordic Racing Trails, which consist of 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) of hiking/running/cross country skiing trails. The trail system is located 37 miles southeast of Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway at the Salcha Elementary School.

The Salcha Ski Club was founded in 1972. Today our club has more than 130 members and we offer organized activities for families throughout the winter (October through March). We have 43 children, ages 6 through 18, who train and compete on a regular basis.

Although our primary activity is athletic training and competition, our purpose is to help young people to grow into responsible, competent and successful adults. We do this by teaching that success and achievement come through hard work, personal responsibility, and "doing your best."

The club is run entirely by volunteers and we finance our activities through various fundraising projects.

We are also a member organization of the United Way of the Tanana Valley. The Salcha Ski Club is recognized as a tax exempt organization by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501 (c )(3) of the Tax Code and donations are tax deductible.
